The Chicago White Sox

For my master's degree, I had the opportunity to work with the Chicago White Sox. My classmates and I were tasked with creating a social media audit to discover how fans are feeling about the team's performance and other factors, including stadium location and ticket pricing.

My Story

This class was a great way to earn experience with a successful organization. My team and I scheduled multiple zoom meetings with the director of communications for the White Sox. She outlined the information she was looking for and allowed us to ask any questions about her expectations. My team and I utilized softwares like Sprinklr and SimplyAnalytics to collect data. We pulled tweets and other social media posts that referenced not only the White Sox, but teams who are considered their competition to compare sentiment. We found that fans held negative feelings towards the White Sox management team and game day experience. Below, you can find the social media audit that holds the data we compiled.
