Secret Meals for Hungry Children
During the spring semester of 2022, I was tasked with creating and hosting an event to raise money and awareness for a nonprofit called Secret Meals for Hungry Children. This organization recognizes students who solely rely on the school to provide food. Secret Meals ensures these children have meals to eat over the weekend. It is an amazing charity that helps many kids.

Mission
The point of the assignment was to raise as much awareness and donations as possible. We created a social media page, deliverables, cups, and much more. My team and I decided to host the event at the local Irish Pub. The venue allowed us to host the event free of charge. We sold cups for $5 which earned participants deals on drinks. My team also had a Spin-to-Win wheel of prizes also donated by other local businesses.
Result
The event was a great success. We raised $3,894 which allowed the nonprofit to feed 27 children every weekend for an entire school year. This moment taught me how impactful public relations and event planning can be on your community and clients.
